Fleet Maintenance Technician/Shop Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on person to help maintain our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This position includes routine maintenance, tire service, minor repairs, parts pickup, and general shop duties.

Responsibilities

· Grease trucks, trailers, and related components.

· Perform oil changes, replace filters, and check and replenish fluids.

· Replace mudflaps, brackets, lights, bulbs, and other minor components.

· Mount and dismount heavy-duty truck tires using appropriate equipment and safe procedures.

· Check tire pressure and inspect tires for wear or damage.

· Pick up parts and supplies as needed using a company vehicle.

· Assist mechanics with preventive maintenance and repairs.

· Sweep the shop, empty trash, and properly dispose of used maintenance materials.

· Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.

· Record completed work and report maintenance or safety concerns.

· Follow shop safety procedures and use required protective equipment.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

· Basic mechanical, truck maintenance, or tire-service experience preferred.

· Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely.

· Appropriate training and demonstrated competency required before performing commercial tire service independently.

· Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

· Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

· Ability to operate shop equipment helpful (Skidsteers, Forklifts, Scissor lifts, etc…)

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
