About the Role

Our Client, DAIRY DIRECT DISTRIBUTION PTY LTD, trading as Brisbane Milk Supplies, is seeking a capable and organised Fleet Manager to oversee transport vehicle operations, coordinate fleet maintenance and support the efficient distribution of milk and other dairy products. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating vehicle servicing, managing transport schedules, maintaining fleet records and ensuring that deliveries are carried out efficiently and safely.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, practical knowledge of fleet and transport operations, and the ability to coordinate vehicle maintenance and delivery activities to support the business's distribution requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Organising the purchase, servicing and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment and fuel supplies.
• Scheduling regular vehicle inspections, servicing and repairs to maintain fleet reliability and minimise operational disruptions.
• Coordinating transport and delivery schedules to support the timely distribution of milk and dairy products.
• Planning and allocating vehicles according to delivery requirements, vehicle availability and operational priorities.
• Liaising with drivers, suppliers, mechanics and other stakeholders regarding fleet maintenance, transport schedules and delivery requirements.
• Monitoring vehicle performance, fuel usage, maintenance costs and fleet operating expenses.
• Ensuring dairy products are transported under suitable conditions to preserve product quality and comply with applicable handling requirements.
• Coordinating the collection, loading, transportation and delivery of goods.
• Monitoring delivery schedules and addressing transport delays or operational issues as required.
• Maintaining accurate fleet registers, vehicle service records, driver documentation and other operational records.
• Preparing operational reports and statements relating to fleet performance, maintenance and transport activities.
• Managing transport-related enquiries and complaints professionally and coordinating appropriate responses.
• Ensuring fleet and transport activities comply with applicable road transport, workplace health and safety and vehicle maintenance requirements.
• Supporting the efficient use of fleet resources and identifying opportunities to improve delivery coordination and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

• A relevant qualification in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Fleet Management or a related field will be highly regarded.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in fleet management, transport operations, logistics or a similar role.
• Experience coordinating vehicle servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs.
• Knowledge of transport scheduling, vehicle allocation and delivery coordination.
• Ability to maintain accurate fleet records and prepare operational reports.
• Experience liaising with drivers, suppliers, mechanics and other stakeholders.
• Understanding of vehicle safety, road transport requirements and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Ability to monitor fleet operating costs, fuel usage and vehicle performance.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet operational deadlines.
• Reliability, attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
