Position Overview

The Fleet Performance Intern plays a key role in evaluating the performance of the LGES Vertech energy storage system (ESS) fleet and/or overseeing execution of existing programs. The intern will analyze site performance data, identify trends and areas of opportunity, and share insights with cross‑functional teams to support data‑driven, first‑principles improvements across the organization. In addition, the intern will gain hands‑on program management exposure by helping coordinate cross‑functional initiatives, tracking deliverables and timelines, and supporting the execution of ongoing fleet programs from planning through completion.

Primary Responsibilities

The Fleet Performance Analytics Intern will:

  • Query and analyze fleet and site performance data
  • Assist in cleaning, validating, and transforming raw data for analysis and visualization
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to support internal stakeholders
  • Identify performance trends, anomalies, and key metrics across the ESS fleet
  • Document data definitions, assumptions, and analytical methodologies
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and performance teams to understand data requirements
  • Support ad‑hoc analyses and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Present findings clearly through dashboards, summaries, and visual insights
  • Help maintain project trackers, schedules, and action‑item logs to keep cross‑functional initiatives on time and on scope
  • Coordinate recurring program meetings—preparing agendas, capturing notes, and following up on action items and open decisions
  • Assist in defining project milestones, tracking deliverables, and reporting status updates to stakeholders
  • Support intake, prioritization, and triage of incoming requests, tickets, or work items (e.g., Jira/Planner) for assigned programs
  • Draft and maintain program documentation, standard operating procedures, and process workflows
  • Identify and escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies to keep programs moving forward

Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
    • Data Analytics
    • Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, or similar)
    • Computer Science

    • Business Administration, Project/Program Management, or a related field
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (Snowflake)
  • Programming (Python)
  • Experience with or strong interest in data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and learning new tools quickly
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Desired:

  • Prior exposure to cloud data platforms, or data warehouses
  • Experience building dashboards or reports used by others
  • Familiarity with project/task management tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Planner, Azure DevOps) or project management concepts (Agile, Kanban, or waterfall)
