What they need
Heavy Equipment / Fleet Technology / Condition Monitoring Company & Position Overview BrainWorks is partnering with a leading, rapidly growing heavy-equipment dealer to identify a Fleet Performance Manager who will lead the next evolution of how the organization helps customers manage the health, performance and cost of their equipment fleets.
This organization supports thousands of connected customer assets across Georgia and has built an established Condition Monitoring team responsible for machine health, preventive maintenance, telematics, oil analysis and equipment-performance data.
The opportunity now is to move beyond traditional condition monitoring. The new leader will manage an experienced technical team while helping transform the function from primarily reactive equipment monitoring into a more proactive, consultative fleet-performance organization. The goal is to help customers use machine and fleet data to improve uptime, utilization, maintenance execution, fuel efficiency, productivity and total cost of ownership.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who understands heavy equipment or diesel fleets, preventive maintenance and telematics, has experience leading people, and knows how to translate technical information and data into practical business recommendations.
What You Will Be Doing
You will lead a team of approximately eight Condition Monitoring professionals while helping shape the future of the company’s fleet-performance capabilities.
You will:
Lead, coach and develop an experienced team responsible for monitoring equipment health and supporting customers across Georgia.
Strengthen day-to-day execution around machine connectivity, preventive-maintenance intervals, fault codes, oil analysis and other equipment-health signals.
Ensure telematics and machine data are accurate, reliable and translated into timely action.
Help evolve the Condition Monitoring team toward a more consultative model focused on broader customer fleet performance.
Use fleet data to identify opportunities to improve uptime, utilization, idle time, fuel cost, maintenance practices, productivity and lifecycle decisions.
Partner with Sales Representatives and other customer-facing teams to turn technical insights into actionable recommendations.
Work directly with fleet managers, operations leaders and other customer stakeholders to understand their goals, challenges and equipment needs.
Develop talent within the team, identify capability gaps and create clearer development paths for employees who can advance into higher-level fleet-performance consulting.
Improve processes, reporting, escalation practices and accountability across the function.
Partner closely with senior leadership to help define the strategy, technology and operating model for the next generation of fleet-performance services.
What We Are Looking For
Heavy-equipment experience is preferred, but candidates with strong diesel/on-highway fleet experience may also be considered if their background includes meaningful preventive maintenance, telematics, equipment-health analytics and leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience working with heavy equipment, diesel equipment, fleet maintenance, equipment reliability, product support or a related environment.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, uptime, equipment health and fleet-performance principles.
- Experience using telematics, fleet-management or connected-equipment platforms to support operating and maintenance decisions.
- VisionLink experience is valuable but not required; experience with comparable OEM or third-party platforms is transferable.
- Ability to interpret equipment and fleet data, identify meaningful trends and translate information into clear recommendations.
- Demonstrated people-leadership experience, including coaching, development, accountability and performance management.
- Strong communication and professional presence with the ability to work effectively with technicians, fleet managers, customers and senior leaders.
- Consultative mindset with the ability to move beyond identifying a technical issue to understanding the broader customer objective and recommending a solution.
- Comfortable leading experienced technical specialists without needing to be the deepest technical expert on the team.
- Strategic thinker who is also willing to engage in operational details when needed.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across sales, service, product support, technology and other functions.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
Why This Opportunity
This is more than a traditional fleet-maintenance or condition-monitoring management position. You will inherit an established technical team, a significant connected-equipment population and existing technology and customer relationships—but you will also have the opportunity to help determine what the future organization becomes.
The company is investing in a model where fleet data is used not simply to react to equipment problems, but to help customers make better operating decisions across their entire fleet.
The position offers:
- Direct visibility and partnership with senior leadership.
- Leadership of an established technical team with meaningful expertise already in place.
- The opportunity to shape processes, technology, talent development and the future operating model.
- Exposure to thousands of connected customer assets.
- A unique combination of heavy equipment, technology, analytics, people leadership and customer consulting.
- Long-term career opportunity within a large, growing organization that continues to invest in people, technology and customer-support capabilities.
Travel & Location
- This position is based in Georgia and is primarily onsite when not visiting customers.
- Approximately 20% travel is expected, primarily throughout Georgia. Most customer visits can be completed as day trips, with occasional overnight travel to South Georgia and limited travel for conferences or advisory meetings.
- Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
What We Offer
Competitive base salary plus performance bonus, vehicle reimbursement program, 401(k) with company match and profit sharing, comprehensive medical/dental/vision benefits, paid time off, wellness programs, ongoing training and development, and long-term advancement opportunities.
