Fleet Service Technician

At Southern Cross Horticulture our goal is to develop and manage the world's best Kiwifruit Orchards.

To deliver on this, we rely on well-maintained fleet and machinery to keep our operations running smoothly. We are looking for a Fleet Service Technician to join our team, supporting our on-road and off-road vehicles that include utes, trailers, side-by-sides and tractors. This role will take on the day-to-day servicing, basic repairs and tyre work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out routine servicing and basic repairs on our on-road and off-road fleet
• Fixing flat tyres and completing tyre replacements
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records, service logs and H&S documentation
• Complying with H&S policies, including near-miss and hazard reporting and pre-start checks
• Keeping the workshop tidy, organised and well-stocked
• Supporting other aspects of our operation across the business as needed

Who we're looking for:

We are looking for someone with hands-on servicing experience and a genuine interest in keeping machinery and vehicles running well. Your background will ideally have:

• Experience in vehicle servicing (e.g. a dealership or service center or agriculture/horticulture machinery servicing)
• Confidence carrying out basic mechanical repairs and tyre work
• A proficient and safe approach to working with tools, vehicles and machinery
• Attention to detail and a strong sense of initiative where you can identify and problem solve
• A positive mindset
• Effective communication skills
• A valid Full New Zealand Driver License
