Fleet Services Mechanic

We are seeking motivated, skilled candidates to join our team as a Fleet Services Mechanic. In this role, you

will perform preventative maintenance and technical repairs on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles, construction

equipment, and fire apparatus. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and files for all work

performed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of vehicles and equipment, including

gas and diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, transmission, hydraulic, and air systems.

• Operate a variety of tools and machinery in a safe and responsible manner.

• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel parts and components.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot drivability and electrical/electronic issues on vehicles and equipment.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date repair records and files.

A mechanic with strong diagnostic skills in drivability and electrical/electronic systems is highly desirable.

Previous experience working on fire apparatus, heavy-duty trucks, or construction equipment is a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least 2 years’ experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, or completion of technical training in

vehicle and equipment repair.

• Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License (with passenger and tanker endorsements) with a

good driving record.

• Ability to obtain an ASE & EVT certification, along with State Inspection certification.

• Self-starter with strong leadership qualities and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles, fire apparatus, or construction equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of drivability and diagnostic systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience are a plus.

Closing Date: September 1, 2026
Hiring range: $22.50 - $32.18 / hour – Depending on Experience

$2,000.00 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after completion of a successful probationary period
