Title: Fleet Support Engineer – HMI Systems

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary engineering escalation resource for fleet HMI issues involving displays, audio/visual notifications, interior cameras, touch interfaces, and other passenger-facing systems.
• Perform root-cause analysis across hardware, software, electrical, and system-level failures using Linux/Android logs, diagnostic data, vehicle information, schematics, and wiring documentation.
• Analyze historical and real-time fleet data to identify recurring failure patterns and partner with Engineering and Operations teams on permanent corrective actions.
• Create and maintain troubleshooting procedures, diagnostic guides, failure-mode documentation, and validated resolutions for field technicians.
• Perform hardware bring-up, functional validation, and firmware/software release verification for HMI components; support critical fleet operations, occasional off-hours coverage, and domestic travel as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline, with at least 4 years of relevant experience in automotive, autonomous vehicles, consumer electronics, or a comparable technical environment.
• Hands-on experience with vehicle and electronic communication technologies such as LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, and LIN, along with LCD/OLED displays, touch controllers, audio amplifiers, and related components.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector end views, and pinouts; distinguish wiring/connectivity issues from component failures and software defects.
• Strong understanding of hardware/software interactions in vehicle systems, including operating systems, software services, displays, infotainment, and passenger-facing electronics.
• Experience with Android Automotive, Linux-based infotainment, UDS, Python or Linux-based log analysis, networking/TCP concepts, or embedded automotive audio is preferred; strong analytical, communication, and independent problem-solving skills are required.
