Kiddie Academy of Olathe is seeking a dependable, energetic, and nurturing Preschool Floater Teacher. This position is ideal for an early childhood professional who enjoys working with children of various ages, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about helping young learners grow and succeed.

As a Floater Teacher, you will provide classroom coverage across a variety of different age groups, assist lead and assistant teachers, support daily routines, and help maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across multiple age groups as needed.
• Assist teachers with lesson implementation and daily classroom activities.
• Supervise children to ensure their safety, well-being, and engagement.
• Maintain positive interactions that support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Help prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
• Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and other daily care routines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment.
• Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
• Communicate professionally with families and team members.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
• Support opening, closing, and transition procedures throughout the academy.

Qualifications

• Must meet Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) requirements for child care staff.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed child care center, preschool, or educational setting preferred.
• CDA (Child Development Associate) credential, early childhood coursework, or related education preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with children of varying ages and developmental stages.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday 9:30AM-6:30PM
• Must successfully pass all required background screenings and health requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
• Ability to supervise children indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
