What they need
About the Role
Inner Rail Food Hall is looking for a Floor Manager who leads from the floor, not from behind a desk. This is not a sit-down-and-watch role. You'll be the highest-visibility example of our standards every shift carrying tubs, checking in with vendors, running the close, quality control, and making sure every guest and every team member feels taken care of. If you notice a spill, you clean it. If a teammate is buried, you're already moving to help before they ask.
What You'll Do
- Take care of your team first; hold the standard by meeting it in front of people, and run the operation (cash, compliance, scheduling, communication) around that.
- Work the floor throughout your shift: pre-bus tables, support vendors, handle bathroom checks, help bartenders, make cuts, and stay visible and findable.
- Step in to help wherever the floor needs it, without taking over, and lead a strong, unified close so no one finishes their night alone.
- Own guest recovery: listen, acknowledge, fix issues fully and quickly, and follow up before the guest leaves.
- Partner with independent food vendors as host and quality control; checking in every shift, managing to-go order flow, and handling refunds and comps with sound judgment.
- Coach in the moment: correct privately, praise specifically and publicly, and document patterns in the nightly recap.
- Run clear pre-shift huddles and manager-to-manager handoffs so nothing falls through the cracks between shifts.
- Escalate injury, safety, allergen, or major vendor issues to the General Manager the same day, without exception.
What You'll Bring
- Exceptional attention to detail - required. You notice the full trash can, the streaked mirror, and the ticket time creeping up before anyone points it out to you.
- A genuine drive to help others - required. You look for who's buried and move toward them before they ask, and you take real satisfaction in making someone else's shift easier.
- Comfort working hands-on, on your feet, for a full shift - this role is on the floor, not in the office.
- Strong, calm communication skills for guest recovery, vendor partnerships, and team coaching.
- Sound judgment and the composure to make real-time calls (like pausing a vendor's to-go orders) under pressure.
- Prior restaurant, food hall, or hospitality leadership experience preferred.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and closing shifts.
What We Offer
- Comprehensive training - you'll never be asked to hold a standard you weren't taught.
- Honest, direct communication - you'll hear about problems from us, not through the grapevine.
- Real authority to solve the problems you're held accountable for.
- A team environment where you're backed publicly and corrected privately - the same respect we ask you to give your team.
- Support on hard nights - you will not be left alone on the floor when you call for help
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
