Floor Manager

About the role

The Floor Manager supervises and coordinates daily floor operations, ensuring smooth service flow, excellent customer satisfaction, proper staff deployment and consistent compliance with company service standards. The Floor Manager is responsible for leading the service team during daily operations, maintaining floor cleanliness and readiness, handling customer concerns, and supporting the Restaurant Manager in achieving sales targets and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily front-of-house operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
• Ensure the dining area, cashier counter, entrance and service stations are clean, organised and ready for operation
• Monitor table availability, seating arrangements, table turnover and customer waiting times
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely food delivery and resolve service delays
• Handle customer enquiries and minor complaints promptly and professionally
• Assign daily duties and deploy floor staff according to business volume and manpower availability
• Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate daily targets, promotions, special arrangements and service priorities
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, discipline and work performance
• Coach staff on customer communication, order taking, serving procedures and service etiquette
• Ensure the team follows company standard operating procedures and established service standards

About you

• Minimum SPM or equivalent
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant restaurant or food and beverage service experience
• Previous experience as a Floor Supervisor, Senior Service Crew or Floor Manager is preferred
• Experience supervising service staff in a busy restaurant environment is an advantage
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead, supervise and motivate a service team
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints professionally
• Ability to coordinate effectively with kitchen and cashier teams
• Basic knowledge of POS systems, order processing and cashiering procedures
• Good spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
