What they need

The Citadel is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented floor manager to oversee daily operations at our premier multi-tenant food hall located in the historic Little River District. Spanning a high-volume main dining floor, multiple artisanal vendor spaces, and dynamic bar operations, this role acts as the central link connecting our culinary vendors, front-of-house staff, and guests to deliver an exceptional, community-centered hospitality experience.Job Overview

  • Job Title: Floor Manager
  • Location: The Citadel Miami, 8300 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33138
  • Position Type: Full-time (Requires flexible open/close availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Reports To: General Manager / Operations Director

Core Responsibilities:

Floor Operations & Guest Experience

  • Supervise the daily operations of the 15,000-square-foot main food hall floor to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for guests on the floor, ensuring a welcoming environment, answering questions about the venue, and resolving customer issues or complaints swiftly and professionally.
  • Monitor table turnover, common area seating capacity, and overall environmental factors (such as ambient lighting, music volume, and temperature) to ensure an energetic yet comfortable neighborhood vibe.
  • Oversee point-of-sale (POS) systems and manage cash handling or daily reconciliation procedures across the centralized bar stations.

Vendor Relations & Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with independent food hall vendor counters to ensure strict compliance with building rules, health codes, and mutual service standards.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication regarding facility logistics, waste management, shared dishwashing areas, and common supply inventories.
  • Serve as the immediate liaison between the vendor kitchens, the main house management, and facilities maintenance teams during shifts.

Team Leadership & Safety Compliance

  • Manage and train front-of-house support staff, including floor hosts, bussers, bar backs, and custodial teams.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to align the team on the day’s goals, volume expectations, and safety measures.
  • Enforce local department of health regulations, building safety protocols, and alcohol service laws (FL state standards) across all public areas.
  • Submit detailed end-of-day (EOD) logs and shift notes highlighting vendor updates, facilities maintenance needs, and customer trends.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of floor management or supervisory experience in high-volume hospitality environments, such as large restaurants, food halls, hotels, or entertainment venues.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal communication and conflict-resolution skills. Fluency in English is required; bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is highly advantageous for interacting with Miami's diverse local community and vendor base.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong multitasking abilities with the presence of mind to handle high-pressure rushes and resolve real-time operational bottlenecks calmly.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency with modern restaurant POS architectures, scheduling software, and common workplace platforms (e.g., MS Office, Toast, OpenTable).
  • Certifications: Active Food Protection Manager and alcohol compliance certifications (or willingness to obtain them immediately upon hire).

Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive salary based on hospitality management experience.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
  • Dynamic, community-focused working environment representing the creative heart of Miami.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
