Floor Supervisor

About the role

Direct and control the activities of Room Attendants ensuring that the hotel achieves its guest satisfaction objectives, encourage the open communication, empowerment and opportunities for subordinate hosts to be developed.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and control Room Attendants to ensure that all day-to-day operational matters are handled on time and guest expectations are met
• Assign rooms for cleaning as per schedules and monitor the cleaning process
• Ensure that vacant rooms are cleaned on time, check them on the completion of cleaning and report back to Housekeeping Coordinator
• Report engineering failures and breakdowns and follow up on repair schedule
• Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of Housekeeping pantries ensuring that par stocks are properly in order
• Oversee the mini-bar operation ensuring that bars are restocked in a timely and efficient manner
• Oversee the issuing, controlling and application of Housekeeping cleaning chemicals
• Coach, counsel, discipline and develop subordinate hosts
• Handle customer complaints if possible, or report them to supervisors
• Identify and control all aspects of risk management and implement strategies to minimize incidents and accidents

About you

• Diploma plus technical certificate or above in related field
• 3 years experience in similar position
• Good local and sound English Language skills
• Ability to read and write
• Positive approach to customer service
• Able to handle physically demanding workload
• Well organized
• Proven track record in hotel of similar standard in similar capacity
• Be fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures
• Use safe manual handling techniques at all times
