Floor Technician

Duties

• Perform comprehensive floor cleaning tasks including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to restore floors to optimal condition.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners efficiently and safely.
• Handle various chemical agents responsibly, ensuring proper use of floor cleaning chemicals and adherence to safety protocols.
• Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of cleaning supplies, equipment, and furniture as needed to facilitate thorough cleaning processes.
• Perform routine inspections and spot cleaning on all cleaning surfaces.
• Apply floor care techniques such as sealing, waxing, and buffing to prolong the lifespan of flooring materials.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to client requests and ensuring their satisfaction with the floor's appearance.

Requirements

• Experience in janitorial or custodial services with a focus on commercial cleaning.
• Knowledge of floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, carpet cleaning, and floor refinishing techniques.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly while following all safety guidelines.
• Strong manual handling skills with the physical ability to lift heavy equipment or supplies regularly.
• Familiarity with various cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, polishers, vacuums, and carpet extractors.
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Customer service mindset with effective communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
