Duties

• Perform comprehensive floor cleaning tasks including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, carpet extractors, and floor scrubbers efficiently and safely.
• Handle various chemical agents responsibly, including floor cleaning chemicals and floor care products, following safety protocols to prevent accidents.
• Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of equipment or materials to support cleaning operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces by vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, and performing detailed custodial duties throughout the facility.
• Apply floor waxing and buffing techniques to restore shine and protect flooring surfaces over time.
• Ensure environmental safety standards are met by properly disposing of waste and using eco-friendly cleaning practices when possible.

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services with a focus on floor care and maintenance.
• Knowledge of floor scrubbing, carpet cleaning, floor buffing, waxing, and refinishing techniques.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and effectively while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Physical stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, bending, and prolonged standing or walking.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with staff and visitors.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and carpet extractors.
• Prior janitorial or environmental services experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
