Flooring Helper / Apprentice (Entry-Level)

Overview

We are looking to bring on a motivated helper/apprentice who wants to learn a skilled trade and grow with our company. This is an entry-level position. No prior flooring experience is required. We’re looking for someone dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn hands-on skills that can turn into a long-term career.

You’ll work directly with experienced technicians and receive training in professional flooring installation, refinishing, and repair.

What You’ll Learn

• Hardwood, LVP, laminate, and other flooring installations
• Hardwood floor refinishing and repairs
• Job site prep and material handling
• Proper use of professional flooring tools and sanding equipment
• Floor prep, tear-out, and subfloor work
• How to maintain clean, organized job sites
• Skills that can grow into a full flooring technician role

Responsibilities

• Assist installers with daily job tasks
• Carry materials and tools
• Help with demo and floor prep
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow instructions from lead installers
• Show up on time and ready to work

Requirements

• Strong work ethic
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Reliable transportation to our shop
• Valid Virginia driver’s license
• Must pass a background check
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Comfortable with physical, hands-on work
• Positive attitude and team player

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.85 - $18.35 per hour
