Flooring Measurement Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a Flooring Measurement Technician to accurately measure jobs and gather all of the information needed to prepare accurate proposals and ensure a successful installation. This position involves visiting customer homes and job sites, speaking with customers, taking measurements, conducting thorough inspections, reviewing job details, and communicating with our customers, warehouse team, and sales associates.

The right person is detail-oriented, organized, self-sufficient, dependable, and comfortable working in the field. This person should understand that accurate measurements, thorough inspections, and good communication are important to keeping each job on track and preventing problems before they happen.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Visit customer homes and job sites to take accurate measurements and evaluate the space for flooring installation.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues that could affect the installation, materials, or scope of work.
• Review job details, plans, and specifications to make sure all information is complete and accurate.
• Identify and communicate potential problems, discrepancies, or changes to the appropriate team members.
• Work with customers, the warehouse team, and sales associates to clarify job requirements and address questions or concerns.
• Provide accurate information to help with proposals, material ordering, scheduling, and installation.
• Keep organized and accurate records for each job.
• Communicate changes or concerns as soon as they are identified.
• When the measuring schedule is lighter, visit active job sites to make sure installations are running smoothly and help identify or address any issues, or assist in the showrooms when needed.
• Work as part of the team to help ensure jobs move smoothly from the initial measure through installation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience in flooring, construction, estimating, measuring, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to take accurate measurements and conduct thorough inspections.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work comfortably with customers and coworkers.
• Comfortable working in customer homes and on active construction sites.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Professional and comfortable interacting with customers.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and job specifications.
• Organized and able to manage multiple jobs and priorities.
• Able to identify problems in the field and communicate them clearly and promptly.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision.
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
