Floral Designer

Job Summary

Ode a la Rose is seeking a part-time floral designer in our Los Angeles studio. We specialize in European-style, hand-tied bouquets and serve customers locally in Los Angeles as well as throughout the western United States. This is a part-time role and scheduling is flexible. However, Saturday availability is a must.

Please be advised that we have two resident shop cats.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hand-tied bouquets with speed and accuracy, adhering to the recipe and Ode's design standards;
• Process raw flowers as they arrive from wholesalers;
• Maintain studio cleanliness, including washing buckets, maintaining the walk-in, taking out garbage and cardboard waste, and maintaining the studio's common areas (break room, restroom, etc.);
• Occasionally interface with the customer service and delivery teams to ensure the timely fulfillment of each order;
• Monitor the online order queue for new orders and to make edits to existing orders;
• Communicate clearly, proactively, and professionally with coworkers and management

Qualifications

• Experience with hand-tied bouquets (this is non-negotiable)
• Previous work in a high-volume flower shop preferred;
• Open availability during Mother's Day and Valentine's Day weeks;
• Morning/afternoon availability on Saturdays;
• Basic to intermediate computer literacy;
• Impeccable time management and punctuality;
• Self-discipline with personal phone use during work hours;
• Ability to stand for up to eight hours per day and to lift at least 25 lbs;
• A commitment to positive, professional, and proactive communication with your colleagues;
• A thirst to learn and the ability to accept constructive feedback;
• A love for (or at least tolerance of) cats

Pay: $25.00 per hour
