Florida Licensed Optician

Eye Center South is seeking an experienced, Florida-licensed optician to join our private practice team. The position available is a full-time commitment with a start date as early as next week. This role combines patient care and eyewear expertise with shared responsibilities managing the day-to-day business operations, frame board management, lab statement reconciliation and and reporting the important KPIs that create a successful, independent optical. Eye Care South is a well established practice with a large, loyal patient base that have been trusting us with their vision for years.

Our reputation is built on the care we provide. We’re looking for someone whose accuracy, follow-through, and service will uphold the trust patients place in Eye Center South.

What you’ll do

● Help patients select frames and lenses that meet their prescription, lifestyle, preferences, and budget.

● Explain lens options, insurance benefits, pricing, and warranties clearly. ● Take accurate measurements; order, inspect, fit, adjust, and dispense eyewear; and resolve problems promptly.

● Manage the frame board, including product selection, display, inventory accuracy, and replenishment.

● Reconcile monthly optical statements and investigate discrepancies. ● Process insurance payments accurately and monitor patient accounts receivable, following up on outstanding balances.

● Maintain clear records and coordinate with the clinical and billing teams to resolve order, payment, and account issues.

● Provide attentive, professional service that reflects and strengthens Eye Center South’s reputation in the community.

What we’re looking for

● A current Florida licensed optician with experience working in the optical industry. ● Experience with optical inventory, insurance payments, account follow-up, or related business operations

● Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

● A warm, dependable approach to patients and coworkers.

● A talent for styling eyewear

● Knowledgeable and confident with lens recommendations that will optimize our patients’ life through their glasses.

Position: Full-time, in person in Sarasota, Florida

Compensation: $28-$33 based on experience Welcome Bonus Offered with Employment Contract
