Florist Assistant/Porter

We are seeking a florist assistant/shop porter for a busy florist and gift store in Celbridge, Co. Kildare. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and unpacking flower shipments, processing and conditioning fresh stems, maintaining cooler and workspace hygiene, and handling physical transport or deliveries.

• Stock & Unpacking: Unload flower and supply trolleys, check-in shipments.
• Flower Conditioning: Un-wrap stems, cut/trim stalks, strip lower leaves and thorns, and place flowers in clean, treated water or coolers.
• Workspace & Cooler Maintenance: Sweep shop floors, empty bins, wash buckets and vases, and organize cold storage units.
• Assembly Preparation: Soak floral foam (oasis), set up containers, wire frames, or grid tapes, and prep hard goods for designers.
• Logistics & Delivery: Pack finished arrangements securely, load delivery vehicles, and assist with transport or venue setup/breakdown for events.
• Customer Support: Assist walk-in customers or help load large plant and flower purchases into cars.

Pay: From €16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
