Flow Controller (similar to a Control Room Operator)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Flow Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling operations mostly from the control room, maximsing production efficiency, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring operations are carried out safely. This is an important position where attention to detail, sound judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor all elements of the production process to ensure maximum efficiency from startup to end packaging using the tools provided ie camera's radio's, OFS etc
• Work with your supervisors to plan and monitor production staff movements and processes to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
• Identify and respond promptly to machine faults, incidents, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Operate and adjust systems in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and operational records. (for example breakdown / down time analysis)
• Work closely with Planning re any schedule changes / developments
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
• Escalate incidents and issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Conduct routine checks and ensure equipment and systems are operating correctly.
• Work closely with procurement and inwards to ensure ingredient / material supply for the weeks production

About you

• Ideally previous experience in a control room, operations, monitoring, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
• Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to follow procedures while using good judgement when situations change.
• Strong computer and systems skills including Microsoft Suite and Excel competency
• A high level of attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
• The flexibility to work a rotating roster, although predominantly this role is for the afternoon shift
