Flutter Mobile Application Developer (back-end)

Urban Acres is looking for an experienced Flutter Mobile Application & Backend Developer with strong expertise in building, managing and maintaining mobile applications along with their complete backend infrastructure.

The candidate should be capable of independently handling the application ecosystem—from Flutter development, APIs and databases to backend operations, server-side integrations, deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting.

This is not purely a front-end Flutter role. Strong backend development and operational capability is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and continuously improve Android and iOS applications using Flutter and Dart.
• Manage the complete backend architecture and operations supporting the mobile application.
• Develop, integrate and maintain REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Handle database architecture, data storage, retrieval, synchronisation and optimisation.
• Manage user authentication, access controls, notifications and application-level security.
• Work with Firebase and/or equivalent backend services, including authentication, cloud messaging, analytics and databases.
• Manage server-side operations, API performance, database performance and application uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve bugs, crashes, API failures, data issues and backend/application performance problems.
• Implement secure and scalable communication between the mobile application, backend systems and databases.
• Manage application builds, releases, version control and deployment to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
• Monitor application performance and undertake regular technical maintenance and upgrades.
• Work on integration of content, media, user data, notifications, subscriptions and other application features as required.
• Maintain proper technical documentation, source-code structure, credentials and development records.
• Coordinate with internal Editorial, Digital, Product and Management teams to translate business requirements into functional technology solutions.
• Take end-to-end ownership of application development, backend operations and ongoing technical support.

Required Technical Skills

• 3–5 years of relevant development experience, with proven hands-on experience in Flutter.
• Strong proficiency in Flutter and Dart.
• Strong experience in backend development and backend operations.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Firebase, databases, authentication and cloud services.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of server-side architecture, API security and data management.
• Experience with Git/version control and structured development workflows.
• Knowledge of application performance optimisation, debugging and crash resolution.
• Experience with Google Play Store and Apple App Store deployment and release management.
• Understanding of push notifications, analytics and third-party service integrations.
• Knowledge of Node.js, Python, PHP or another relevant backend technology will be an advantage.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be an experienced, technically strong and solution-oriented developer who can take ownership rather than depend on external resources for routine application and backend management.

We are particularly looking for someone who is strong in problem-solving, backend operations, database management and application maintenance, in addition to Flutter development.

The candidate should be capable of understanding an existing application architecture, identifying technical issues, recommending improvements and independently implementing solutions.

Work Arrangement

Full-Time | Work From Office | Mumbai

The position requires regular in-office collaboration with the Digital, Editorial, Product and Management teams and complete ownership of the organisation's mobile application development and backend operations.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
