What they need

About the Role:

Are you someone who takes ownership, follows through on commitments, keeps stakeholders informed, and ensures nothing falls through the cracks? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.

Step into a high-impact leadership opportunity where you can make a visible difference every day. As a CBRE FM Engineering Operations Manager, you'll support one of our clients in the financial services sector, overseeing facilities operations across a portfolio of approximately 425 retail banking locations and associated office space.

This role can be based in Dallas or Houston and is highly visible, requiring approximately 50% of your time in the field meeting with client stakeholders, visiting locations, and serving as a trusted advisor across the portfolio. We're seeking a customer-focused leader who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and is committed to delivering exceptional service.

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving facility-related needs across a large, geographically dispersed portfolio. You'll collaborate closely with clients, vendors, landlords, and service providers to ensure facilities are safe, efficient, and well-maintained while delivering an exceptional experience for employees and customers alike.

What You'll Do:

  • Spend approximately 50% of your time in the field, visiting retail banking locations, meeting with client stakeholders, assessing facility needs, and ensuring service delivery standards are met across a portfolio of approximately 425 locations and associated office space.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for the client, building strong relationships, providing proactive updates, and ensuring facility-related issues are resolved through completion.
  • Identify, prioritize, and resolve operational and facility-related challenges while ensuring a high level of responsiveness, follow-through, and customer service.
  • Partner with vendors, landlords, and service providers to deliver safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities that support business operations.
  • Lead and coordinate daily facilities operations, establishing priorities, balancing workloads, and ensuring service delivery commitments are met.
  • Provide leadership and direct supervision to engineering and operations staff, including performance management, coaching, employee development, succession planning, and talent acquisition.
  • Set, monitor, and manage individual and team performance goals, project milestones, and departmental objectives to drive operational excellence.
  • Manage departmental financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts that enhance operational effectiveness and client satisfaction.
  • Evaluate processes, procedures, and workflows to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, improved performance, and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with leadership to execute company programs, policies, and initiatives while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
  • Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain oversight of compliance documentation, audits, reporting requirements, and safety programs.
  • Demonstrate CBRE's RISE values through leadership, professionalism, accountability, and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of facilities management and engineering operations to support business objectives and drive successful outcomes.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience in facilities management, engineering operations, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Experience managing facilities operations across a multi-site portfolio, preferably within a client-facing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including the ability to assess facility issues, coordinate repairs, and effectively partner with service providers and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and employee development.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional partners while serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive, complex, or challenging situations with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to establish priorities, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and expense management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform business-related calculations and analyses, including budgets, forecasts, financial metrics, percentages, and ratios.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
