FMCG Category Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a commercially minded and detail-oriented FMCG Category Manager to support our consumer goods wholesale, import, distribution and online retail operations in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing product categories, reviewing market trends, coordinating with suppliers, monitoring product performance and supporting category development initiatives. This role works closely with sales, purchasing, warehouse, logistics and e-commerce teams to maintain an effective product assortment and support the company’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned FMCG product categories, including general consumer goods and mother-and-baby products.
• Review market trends, customer preferences and competitor activity to identify potential category development opportunities.
• Coordinate with suppliers on product availability, pricing information, delivery schedules and product specifications.
• Maintain accurate product listings, category information, pricing records and inventory reports.
• Monitor sales performance, stock movement and product availability to support purchasing and replenishment planning.
• Work with sales and e-commerce teams to improve product presentation, assortment planning and promotional activities.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to support inbound shipments, stock allocation and timely order fulfilment.
• Review category performance reports and recommend practical improvements to product assortment and inventory management.
• Support supplier relationship management and evaluate opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency.
• Ensure product documentation and internal records are maintained accurately in accordance with applicable company procedures and business requirements.
• Prepare regular reports on category sales, inventory levels, supplier performance and market developments.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to support new product introductions and ongoing category improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Retail Management or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in FMCG, wholesale trade, consumer goods distribution, merchandising, purchasing or category management is preferred.
• Good understanding of product assortment, supplier coordination, inventory planning and sales performance analysis.
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, sales reports and inventory management systems.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to coordinate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
• Detail-oriented, commercially aware and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and consumer goods distribution processes is an advantage.

Pay: $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
