Overview

We are seeking dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic Front of House (FOH) Associates to join our growing team at ChikinJip.

At ChikinJip, we operate with a flexible, team-based structure. Rather than hiring separately for Server and Host positions, our FOH Associates are cross-trained to perform both roles based on daily business needs.

As an FOH Associate, you will play an essential role in creating outstanding dining experiences for our guests while supporting smooth and efficient restaurant operations.

We are looking for individuals who are dependable, hardworking, team-oriented, and willing to take on different responsibilities throughout the week.

IMPORTANT: This is a combined Server / Host position, NOT a Server-only or Host-only position. Both Full-Time and Part-Time applicants must have full-day and weekday availability.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time, well-groomed, and in a clean ChikinJip uniform for every shift.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment.
• Greet guests warmly, manage seating arrangements, and assist with guest flow.
• Present menus, answer questions, and help guests select food and beverages.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the ChikinJip menu and make helpful recommendations.
• Take accurate orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
• Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately.
• Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with Alabama state requirements.
• Manage takeout, online, and delivery orders efficiently.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with fellow FOH Associates, supervisors, and kitchen staff.
• Address guest concerns or complaints with a calm, professional, and positive attitude.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining area, host station, and other assigned areas.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and daily operational duties.
• Perform both Server and Host responsibilities as assigned by management.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and management instructions.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred.
• Previous Server or Host experience is a plus.
• Experience with POS systems and cash handling preferred.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food safety, and personal hygiene.
• Friendly, professional, patient, and customer-focused attitude.
• Responsible, honest, dependable, and punctual.
• Strong communication, teamwork, interpersonal, and basic math skills.
• Ability to anticipate guest needs and respond proactively.
• Willingness to support teammates and perform different FOH duties as needed.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform frequent bending, reaching, and twisting.

Schedule & Availability

• Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.
• Full-Day Availability is REQUIRED for ALL applicants.
• Weekday Availability is REQUIRED.
• Must be available for both opening and closing shifts as scheduled.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Weekend-only availability will NOT be accepted.
• Must be willing to rotate between Server and Host responsibilities based on business needs.
• Work schedules and daily assignments are determined by management.
• No split shifts.
