What they need

Restaurant Manager

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure consistent service, accountability, and execution throughout each shift.

This is not a passive management position. The Restaurant Manager is expected to be present, engaged, dependable, and capable of independently managing the restaurant while maintaining clear communication with ownership.

A minimum of 3 years of restaurant management or comparable restaurant leadership experience is required. Applicants without at least 3 years of relevant management experience will not be considered.

The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, confident managing employees, and willing to take ownership of both problems and results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise front-of-house employees during daily operations
  • Recruit, interview, train, coach, and develop staff
  • Build a dependable team and take ownership of staffing performance
  • Create and maintain employee schedules based on business needs
  • Address call-outs, staffing shortages, and coverage issues proactively
  • Maintain strong communication with ownership regarding staffing, operational concerns, and significant incidents
  • Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, service standards, and opening/closing responsibilities
  • Monitor dining-room flow, guest experience, table management, and overall service quality
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and appropriately
  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining a professional and respectful work environment
  • Monitor labor, inventory, waste, restaurant supplies, and operating costs
  • Assist with ordering, inventory controls, food costing, and maintaining appropriate product levels
  • Ensure cleanliness, food-safety standards, and proper restaurant organization
  • Maintain consistent execution of recipes, procedures, checklists, and company standards
  • Identify operational problems and take initiative to correct them rather than waiting for ownership to intervene
  • Complete required management documentation, reports, and shift communication
  • Protect company property, keys, documents, systems, and confidential information
  • Provide proper transition and communication when responsibilities are transferred to another manager or ownership

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant management or restaurant leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and developing employees
  • Experience hiring, training, coaching, and holding staff accountable
  • Experience creating or managing employee schedules
  • Strong understanding of front-of-house restaurant operations
  • Ability to manage a high-volume or fast-paced service environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain professional during conflict, pressure, or disagreement
  • Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and the schedule required by the position

Schedule Expectations

This is a full-time management position requiring a high level of availability and reliability.

The regular management schedule is 5 days per week, approximately 10:30 AM–10:30 PM, with a 1.5-hour break during the day. Any additional workday will be designated by the company as overtime.

Managers are expected to work their scheduled shifts unless specifically approved otherwise. Leaving early, leaving during a shift without appropriate communication, or failing to arrange necessary coverage is not consistent with the expectations of this position.

What We Value

We are looking for a manager who:

  • Leads by example rather than managing from the sidelines
  • Takes ownership of their department, staff, and decisions
  • Communicates problems early instead of after they become emergencies
  • Can receive feedback without becoming defensive
  • Coaches employees and helps them develop toward independence
  • Holds employees accountable without creating unnecessary conflict
  • Understands that management is measured by results, organization, team performance, and consistency—not simply physical presence
  • Can be trusted to follow through on commitments without constant supervision

This position is best suited for someone who wants meaningful responsibility and the authority that comes with successfully managing it.
