FOH Manager, Restaurant Manager

An established Asian cuisine formal dining restaurant in Canberra is seeking an experienced and motivated FOH Manager / Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house team and oversee daily restaurant operations.

We are looking for a confident hospitality professional who is passionate about exceptional service, strong team leadership and creating a memorable guest experience.

About the role

You will be responsible for leading the front-of-house operation and maintaining consistently high standards across service, staff performance and overall guest experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the FOH team during service
• Training, mentoring and developing FOH staff
• Maintaining high standards of professional and attentive customer service
• Managing reservations, table allocations and guest enquiries
• Handling guest feedback and resolving issues professionally
• Preparing and managing staff rosters
• Monitoring labour costs and assisting with wage control
• Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service and collaborate to boost the sale
• Maintaining strong communication between FOH and BOH
• Managing opening and closing procedures
• Overseeing beverage stock, ordering and inventory
• Maintaining presentation, cleanliness and service standards throughout the venue
• Supporting functions, events and promotional activities
• Identifying opportunities to improve sales, service and repeat business
• Creating a positive, professional and accountable team culture

About you

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, FOH Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager or in a similar hospitality leadership role
• Experience in a formal, premium or fine dining environment
• Strong leadership and people-management skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• The ability to remain organised and composed during busy services
• Strong attention to detail and high service standards
• A good understanding of restaurant operations, labour management and cost control
• A proactive and hands-on approach to leadership
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as required

Wine, cocktail, beverage management and function experience will be highly regarded.
