Lai Wah Heen is an elevated Chinese dining restaurant located in the heart of downtown Toronto inside the DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown.

Known for refined hospitality, elegant design, and a deeply rooted Cantonese culinary philosophy, Lai Wah Heen combines tradition with a contemporary dining experience.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for experienced, professional hospitality team members to join our Front of House team.

We are currently hiring:

• Experienced Servers
• Server Assistants / Support Staff
• Bartenders
• Hosts / Hostesses

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for hospitality professionals who are polished, dependable, and genuinely passionate about creating memorable guest experiences.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Previous experience in fine dining, upscale casual, luxury hotel, or high-end restaurant environments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional, polished, and guest-focused approach
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient during busy services
• Strong teamwork and a willingness to support all areas of the dining room
• Reliable availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• A positive attitude and a genuine interest in hospitality

Previous knowledge of Chinese or Cantonese cuisine is an asset, but not required.

Servers

We are looking for experienced servers who are confident delivering attentive, refined service in a high-end dining environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing knowledgeable and professional table service
• Guiding guests through the menu and making thoughtful recommendations
• Demonstrating confidence with wine, spirits, and beverage pairings
• Maintaining strong knowledge of ingredients, dishes, and preparation methods
• Anticipating guest needs throughout the dining experience
• Working closely with the kitchen, bar, and support team to ensure seamless service

Fine-dining experience and strong wine knowledge are highly valued.

Bartenders

Our bartenders should have a strong foundation in both classic and contemporary beverage service.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing classic and signature cocktails consistently and efficiently
• Providing professional wine, beer, spirit, and cocktail service
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully prepared bar
• Managing mise en place, garnishes, inventory, and opening/closing duties
• Engaging confidently with guests and making beverage recommendations
• Supporting dining-room service when required

Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, and premium hospitality is expected.

Server Assistants

Server Assistants play an essential role in maintaining the flow and standard of service.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting servers throughout service
• Clearing, resetting, and maintaining tables
• Water service and table maintenance
• Running food and assisting with service execution
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the dining room
• Anticipating the needs of both guests and servers

Hosts / Hostesses

Our host team is responsible for creating the first and final impression of Lai Wah Heen.

Responsibilities include:

• Welcoming and engaging guests professionally
• Managing reservations and table assignments
• Coordinating seating with the management and service team
• Answering phone and guest inquiries
• Maintaining an organized and polished reception area
• Handling guest requests with warmth, confidence, and professionalism

Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills are essential.
