Description

Plume Restaurant is a unique vineyard restaurant with a conference centre, offering high-quality dining and memorable experiences for our restaurant and conference guests.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and reliable Hospitality Team Member to join our team as a Duty Manager. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys hospitality, takes pride in their work and is confident working independently.

You will work closely with our management team to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant and consistently high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver professional and friendly food and beverage service

• Prepare quality coffee and carry out barista duties

• Support conferences, functions and special events

• Maintain clean, organised and well-presented restaurant and function areas

• Complete regular stocktakes and monitor stock levels

• Assist with stock ordering and maintain appropriate inventory

• Complete cash-ups and ensure accurate cash handling

• Work within budgets and monitor costs and expenditure

• Help minimise wastage and maintain strong stock control

• Work independently and use initiative to complete daily tasks

• Support other team members during busy service periods

• Work closely with management to maintain high standards of service and presentation

About You

We are looking for someone who is positive, energetic and passionate about hospitality, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You will have:

• Previous hospitality experience, preferably in a quality restaurant environment

• Strong coffee and barista skills

• Experience with stocktakes, stock control and ordering

• Experience with cash-ups and cash handling

• An understanding of budgets, costs and financial responsibility

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• A proactive attitude and the ability to use initiative

• Good organisation and attention to detail

• A reliable and professional approach to work

• A valid New Zealand work visa/right to work

• A current LCQ (Licence Controller Qualification)

• A valid driver's licence

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, public holidays and conference/function days
