What they need
Food & Beverage Assistant – Pic‑nic (Full-Time & Part-Time)
Lisburn | Growing Hospitality Business | Café Outside Catering Fat Cow Events Trailer
Pic‑nic is growing, fast. What started as a busy local café has expanded into outside catering, our weekend pop‑up burger restaurant Fat Cow, and a new events food trailer Field Kitchen serving festivals, weddings and private functions. We’re now looking for reliable, experienced hospitality staff who want to be part of a business that’s moving forward.
This is not a casual or student role. We need people who can commit to flexible working patterns, including weekends, evenings on rotation and some Sundays when the events trailer is out. If that doesn’t suit, please do not apply.
About the Role
As a Food & Beverage Assistant, you’ll be part of the core Pic‑nic team, serving customers, preparing food and drinks, keeping standards high and helping us deliver great service across all parts of the business.
You’ll work mainly in our café, but you’ll also have opportunities to support our outside catering, Fat Cow weekends and our events trailer when required. No two weeks are the same, and you’ll be joining a team that enjoys the variety.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Greeting customers and providing friendly, confident service
- Preparing and presenting food and beverages to Pic‑nic standards
- Operating the till, taking cash and card payments accurately
- Answering the telephone and helping customers with enquiries
- Maintaining food hygiene, cleaning and housekeeping standards
- Washing dishes, mopping floors, cleaning toilets and general duties
- Handling customer complaints professionally and passing feedback to managers
- Keeping stock levels topped up and organised
- Following company procedures, food safety rules and H&S guidelines
- Working flexibly across café shifts, Fat Cow weekends and events trailer days
Who We’re Looking For
- Hospitality experience is essential, café, restaurant or food service
- Friendly, enthusiastic and confident with customers
- Calm under pressure and able to work well as part of a busy team
- Fluent English speaker
- Reliable, organised and able to follow established procedures
- Someone who enjoys variety and isn’t afraid of hands‑on work
- Must be available for weekends, evenings on rotation and some Sundays
If you’re experienced, dependable and want to be part of a business that’s expanding into new areas, we’d love to hear from you.
