Food & Beverage Supervisor

Job Purpose

To support the daily operation of the hotel's food and beverage outlets, ensuring exceptional guest service, high operational standards, and profitable performance across the restaurant, bars, and function spaces. The Food & Beverage Supervisor will lead shifts, motivate team members, and ensure the smooth delivery of food and beverage services for hotel guests, conferences, weddings, and events.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management

• Supervise the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, bars, and function rooms.
• Ensure all food and beverage outlets are fully prepared for service and presented to company standards.
• Lead shifts, allocating duties and monitoring team performance throughout service.
• Deliver excellent guest experiences and professionally resolve customer complaints or concerns.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation in all F&B areas.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and licensing regulations.

Team Leadership

• Supervise, train, coach, and motivate team members to achieve service excellence.
• Conduct shift briefings and communicate daily objectives, promotions, and operational updates.
• Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of F&B employees.
• Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and team performance.
• Foster a positive and professional working environment.

Functions and Events

• Coordinate and supervise weddings, conferences, private dining events, banquets, and other functions.
• Liaise with event organisers and hotel departments to ensure seamless event delivery.
• Ensure function rooms are correctly set up according to event specifications.
• Lead event service teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Resolve any operational issues promptly during events.

Financial Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels and minimise wastage.
• Support stocktakes and inventory control procedures.
• Ensure accurate cash handling and till reconciliation procedures.
• Maximise sales opportunities through upselling food, beverages, and promotional offers.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure compliance with:

• Licensing Laws
• Health & Safety Procedures
• Fire Safety Regulations
• Hotel Brand Standards
• Report maintenance issues and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Person SpecificationEssential

• Previous supervisory experience within a hotel, restaurant, bar, or hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Experience working within a busy food and beverage operation.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety requirements.

Working Hours

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Shift-based rota including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays/public holidays.
• Additional hours may be required during busy periods and major events.

Pay: £12.85 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
