Food Application Technologist

Main role of the position

1. Food application R&D and customer technical support utilizing starch and sweetener ingredients

Scope of the role

1. Reports to: Sales Director, Team Leader (Technical Solution & Solution Team)
2. Internal contact: Technical Solution Team, Solution Team, Application Development Team
3. External contact: Customers (R&D and Sales), Vendor, Logistics etc.

Job Description

1. Discovery of existing & new clients through application research of starch and sweeteners
2. Development of food recipes (sauces, beverages, bakery, etc.) and analysis of starch and sweeteners
3. Product expansion through research and analysis of the Indonesian food market
4. Responding to client inquiries and technical sales support (accompanied meetings if required)
5. Proposing tailored technical solutions, product consultations, and product demonstrations based on customer requirements
6. Establishing annual, monthly, and weekly application research plans
7. Conducting collaboration with client research institutes, supporting promotional activities such as marketing promotions, exhibitions, and fairs

Qualifications and Competencies

1. Major in Food Engineering or a related field preferred major in food-related fields / Master’s degree or higher preferred
2. 10+ years of experience in Food R&D preferred experience in beverage, sauce, confectionery, and bakery R&D
3. Practical experience in B2C product development (NPD)
4. Knowledge of food ingredients and experience in product application
5. Excellent proficiency in English or Korean
6. Smooth communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
7. Fast decision-making and problem-solving skills
8. Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams
9. Ability to collect, analyze, and utilize food market information/trend
10. Excellent skills in using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
11. Ability to travel internationally
