Food Manufacturing Process Engineer

The Food Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting the transfer, installation, testing, commissioning, qualification, and optimization of food manufacturing equipment and production processes within the commissary plant. The role focuses on ensuring that new, relocated, or upgraded equipment is properly integrated into the production operations for breads, pastries, and other food products, while meeting requirements for food safety, quality, productivity, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Develop equipment transfer, installation, and commissioning plans, including timelines, manpower, utilities, materials and required resources

2.2 Arrange manufacturing equipment to provide a safe, efficient, and productive layout that optimizes workflow, facilitates accessibility, and allows for effective equipment operation and maintenance.

2.3 Ensure required utilities such as electrical power, water, compressed air, steam, gas, drainage, exhaust, and other services are properly provided.

2.4 Verify proper equipment positioning, layout, accessibility, safety clearances, and integration with existing production lines.

2.5 Provide technical support to Production during equipment start-up, ramp-up, and regular operations.

2.6 Troubleshoot process-related problems, recommends appropriate corrective actions, and coordinate with Maintenance personnel to resolve equipment-related issues efficiently and prevent or minimize operational downtime.

2.7 Cooperate and work closely with Production, Engineering/Maintenance, Facilities, Quality Assurance, R&D, Safety, and external equipment suppliers/contractors to ensure successful equipment implementation from project planning through stable production.

2.8 Assist in budgeting and cost estimation for equipment installation, modification, and process improvement projects.

2.9 Establish, develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operating limits, and process parameters and settings.

2.10 Monitor key performance indicators such as output, yield, downtime, cycle time, waste, and equipment utilization, analyze trends and propose solutions

2.11 Maintain equipment and process documentation, including technical drawings, manuals, specifications, and commissioning records.

2.12 Support continuous improvement initiatives using appropriate problem-solving and process-improvement methodologies.

2.13 Ensure equipment installation and process design comply with applicable food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and quality requirements.

2.14 Adheres to safety protocols and procedures promoting in the installation, operation, and maintenance of food manufacturing equipment, a safe working environment

2.15 Maintains cleanliness, orderly compilation of records, and 5S compliance of area.
2.16 Ensures compliance of the plant with environmental laws

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Licence or Certification: PRC engineering license if applicable
2. Education/Training: Must have at least bachelor's degree in Food Engeneering, Manufactiring Engineering, Mechanical Engeneering, Chemical Engeneering, or any related engeneering field.
3. Skills and Experience: Must have at least 2-year experinece in food manufacturing operations as Process enginner or in a field that offers well-rounded background in manufacturing operations. Must also have a problem solving, communication skills, and good understanding of food manufacturing process, food safety requirements, HACCP, GMP, and GHP. In addition, proficient in AutoCAD and technical drawing.
