Food Pantry Assistant

Position Summary

The Pantry Assistant at United Way of Tri-County is a full-time/hourly, onsite role in Framingham that combines office/administrative work with hands-on food pantry operations. The person in this position will work closely with clients, volunteers, and the Director of Food Security in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Greet clients and assess their food security needs.
• Collect and enter client information and maintain client files.
• Communicate with clients who may have limited English proficiency.
• Coordinate and direct volunteer activities.
• Answer phones and provide front-facing customer service.
• Assist the Director of Food Security with various projects and tasks as needed.

Key Qualifications

Required:

• Previous office/administrative experience.
• Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced food pantry environment.
• Ability to lift 10–20 pounds.
• Comfortable working directly with clients and volunteers.

Preferred:

• Bilingual Spanish/Portuguese speakers receive preference in hiring.
