Food Runner

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Expo / Food Runner to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate acts as the crucial link between the kitchen and the dining room, ensuring dishes are accuracy-checked, beautifully presented, and delivered promptly to guests. We are specifically looking for team members available for opening shifts who maintain high standards of quality, speed, and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and quality-check dishes at the kitchen line to ensure orders are accurate and meet presentation standards
• Deliver food promptly and efficiently to the correct tables and guests
• Manage prep tasks and station setup required for smooth opening operations
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff, Expo lead, and servers to ensure seamless service flow and correct modifications
• Assist in prepping garnish stations, staging trays, and keeping the Expo line clean and organized
• Answer guest questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and potential allergens upon delivery
• Support front-of-house staff by clearing empty dishes and keeping dining room flow efficient
• Uphold strict food safety and sanitation standards at all times

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain before start date) required
• Availability to work opening shifts (mornings and early afternoons)
• Spanish speakers preferred
• Previous Expo or Food Runner experience preferred; high-volume restaurant experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of menu items, plate presentation, and food safety guidelines
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with POS ticket orders and kitchen display systems (e.g., Toast, Aloha, Micros)
• High physical stamina, with the ability to carry heavy trays and stand for extended periods
