Position Summary

The Food Runner supports the restaurant service team by delivering food accurately, promptly, and professionally from the kitchen to guests. This position plays an important role in creating a seamless dining experience by ensuring food is presented according to resort standards, maintaining communication between the kitchen and service team, and keeping service areas clean and organized. Starting rate $19.00 #towncountrySD

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the correct tables promptly and accurately.
• Verify food presentation, garnishes, and order accuracy before leaving the kitchen.
• Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, kitchen team members, and supervisors to support smooth service.
• Assist servers with food delivery, table maintenance, and guest requests as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, expo areas, and designated workspaces.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures at all times.
• Respond courteously to guest questions and requests, involving a server or supervisor when appropriate.
• Assist with clearing tables, resetting dining areas, and preparing the restaurant for service.
• Learn menu items, ingredients, and common dietary considerations to help answer basic guest questions.
• Support opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the restaurant's operation.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, or hospitality experience preferred; a willingness to learn is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Commitment to guest service, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to carry and transport food trays and service items safely.
• Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
