Food Server

The Fourth Bore Tap Room in Orinda is now hiring professional career minded Food Servers for our popular restaurant located in Orinda's Theatre Square.

Now entering our 9th year in Orinda, the Fourth Bore features neo-Neapolitan style pizza, American Comfort Food favorite such as our golden fried Cheese Curds, an incredible 28 tap beer lineup, and funky craft cocktails. We pay our employees once a week and tips are wired same day directly to your debit card or existing bank account. We offer meal discounts both during your shift and off-duty. With live music Thursday through Saturday nights 8 months a year and a rabid following, we get very busy and with our core demographic our servers have income potential other casual restaurants can only dream of. 5 years of full-service restaurant food server experience is required to be considered for this position. This is the ideal position for an experienced professional food server looking for a full-time type position in an environment that rewards hustle. We are NOT a tip pool restaurant. Our servers tip out their support staff and walk home with their own tips every day.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service Excellence:

• Greet and welcome guests with warmth and enthusiasm.
• Provide detailed information about the menu items, specials, and beverage offerings.
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in guests' preferences and dietary restrictions.
• Anticipate and respond to guest needs promptly and professionally.

Salesmanship:

• Effectively upsell menu items, beverages, and specials to enhance the dining experience.
• Utilize product knowledge to make personalized recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Proactively suggest additional items to complement guests' orders.
• Meet and exceed sales targets while maintaining a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.

Food and Beverage Knowledge:

• Stay informed about the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
• Provide insights into food and beverage pairings to enhance the overall dining experience.
• Continuously expand knowledge of new menu items, seasonal offerings, and industry trends.

Order Management:

• Efficiently take accurate orders and communicate them to the kitchen staff.
• Ensure timely and coordinated delivery of food and beverages to guests.
• Address any concerns or modifications to orders with a positive and accommodating attitude.

Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure seamless service.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to manage guest flow and optimize table turnover.
• Contribute to a positive and cohesive team environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years proven experience as a Food Server in a high-volume, upscale dining establishment.
• Exceptional sales and hospitality skills with a customer-centric mindset.
• In-depth knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including wine and cocktail selections.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
• Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

In addition to the above skills, the food server position may require but is not limited to the following:

• Answering phones and accommodating guests
• Clearing, cleaning, and resetting of the restaurant
• Welcoming and Seating guests in a timely manner
• Having amazing menu knowledge
• Rolling Silverware
• Stocking and restocking various areas of the restaurant
• Sweeping and Maintaining floor areas

Candidates must be available on weekends for this position.

Must be able to work on feet for up to 6 hours straight.
