Food Service Associate

Backyard Grill is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Food Service Associate to support daily restaurant operations and provide efficient service to guests. This role involves assisting with food orders, preparing and assembling menu items as directed, maintaining clean service areas, and working closely with kitchen and front-of-house team members. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food-service environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Assist with taking and confirming customer orders.
• Help prepare and assemble food items according to established procedures.
• Communicate order details and special requests clearly to kitchen staff.
• Assist with dine-in, takeout, and pickup orders as needed.
• Operate the POS system and process payments when assigned.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service areas.
• Replenish food-service supplies, containers, napkins, and utensils.
• Follow food-handling, storage, and presentation guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, counters, and customer areas.
• Assist kitchen staff with routine preparation and cleaning duties.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
• Support opening, closing, and other daily restaurant responsibilities.
• Work cooperatively with team members to maintain efficient service.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, café, food-service, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful.
• Friendly and professional approach to customers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Good attention to cleanliness, food safety, and order accuracy.
• Comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to learn menu items and restaurant procedures.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
