Food Service Worker

Job Summary
Mert's Heart And Soul is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused Food Service Worker to support daily food service and restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, order service, dining area maintenance, cleaning, restocking, and general kitchen support while maintaining high standards of food quality, sanitation, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation, portioning, and ingredient handling.
• Prepare ingredients and supplies for daily food service.
• Assist kitchen staff with assembling and preparing menu items.
• Prepare and package customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist guests with menu questions and general service requests.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation and service areas.
• Clean and sanitize utensils, equipment, counters, tables, and work surfaces.
• Restock food ingredients, beverages, packaging materials, utensils, and service supplies.
• Monitor food and supply levels and communicate shortages to management.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Assist with maintaining dining areas and service stations throughout the shift.
• Support team members during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and restocking.
• Report customer concerns, equipment issues, or food-quality concerns to management.
• Perform other food service and kitchen support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, kitchen, or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and sanitation practices.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and order accuracy.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Comfortable standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing physical food service tasks.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities during busy periods.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
