Food Service Worker

Job Summary

Mary Mac's Tea Room is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Food Service Worker to support daily restaurant and food service operations. This role assists with food preparation, order handling, guest service, food and beverage service, cleanliness, restocking, and maintaining a welcoming dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.
• Assist with preparing and serving food, beverages, side dishes, desserts, and other menu items.
• Prepare ingredients and food items according to established procedures.
• Support portioning, plating, packaging, and order assembly as needed.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate special requests.
• Ensure orders are complete, accurate, and properly presented.
• Deliver food and beverages to guests promptly and courteously.
• Answer basic guest questions about menu items and food service.
• Assist with point-of-sale transactions and customer payments as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized food preparation areas, counters, service stations, and dining spaces.
• Clear and reset tables to help maintain a neat and welcoming environment.
• Restock ingredients, beverages, utensils, napkins, containers, and other food service supplies.
• Assist kitchen and front-of-house team members during busy service periods.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety procedures.
• Handle food, equipment, ingredients, and restaurant supplies carefully and responsibly.
• Communicate guest concerns, supply needs, and service issues to supervisors.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general food service duties.
• Help maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and order accuracy.
• Support effective teamwork and smooth daily restaurant operations.
• Perform other food service and restaurant support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Willingness to learn food preparation and service procedures.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety practices.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Comfortable standing, walking, and performing hands-on food service tasks.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
