Food service worker

Job Summary

As a Food Service Worker, you’ll help create a welcoming dining experience by preparing and serving food, assisting customers, and keeping work areas clean and safe. You may support restaurant, catering, or dietary aide operations, with duties shaped by the service setting. Your impact: Careful food preparation and attentive service help customers enjoy meals that meet their needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, handle, and serve food while following food safety and sanitizing procedures
• Provide in-person customer service, answer questions, and support dietary requests
• Operate kitchen equipment and point-of-sale (POS) systems; process cash transactions and use basic math
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and service spaces
• Lift, carry, and move supplies or food items in line with workplace weight-handling and manual-handling practices

Requirements

• Food handling knowledge and a commitment to food safety and food safety management practices
• Ability to follow instructions, work safely with kitchen equipment, and complete cleaning tasks
• Customer service skills; serving, food preparation, or food service experience is helpful
• Restaurant, catering, dietary aide, culinary, or broader food industry experience is welcome
• Fine dining experience, wine knowledge, and familiarity with POS systems are preferred, not required

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
