Food Techologist

About the role

Classic Savory is seeking a licensed Food Technologist to join our dynamic team in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and innovation of our food products. As a Food Technologist, you will be at the intersection of food science and product development, working to maintain our high standards whilst driving continuous improvement across our operations. This role is instrumental in supporting our commitment to delivering safe, delicious, and consistent food products to our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting comprehensive food safety testing and quality assurance protocols across production facilities and supply chains

• Developing and optimizing food formulations to enhance product taste, texture, nutritional value, and shelf-life

• Ensuring compliance with local and international food safety standards, regulations and certifications

• Collaborating with production teams to troubleshoot product defects and implement corrective actions

• Documenting testing procedures, results and recommendations in comprehensive technical reports

• Monitoring and maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functioning

• Investigating customer complaints related to product quality and food safety

• Participating in new product development initiatives and feasibility studies

• Staying current with emerging food technology trends and best practices in the industry

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology or a related discipline
• 2-4 years of professional experience in food technology, quality assurance, or food safety roles within the food manufacturing or quick-service restaurant industry
• Strong knowledge of food safety management systems, including HACCP, FSMS and ISO 22000
• Proficiency in microbiological and chemical testing methodologies and laboratory techniques
• Familiarity with food regulations and standards applicable in the Philippines and internationally
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities in English; Filipino language proficiency is advantageous
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including production, procurement and research and development
• Competency in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software
• Certification in food safety management or relevant professional qualifications is preferred
