Soccer HQ is Lancashire’s leading football coaching organisation, providing high-quality coaching to over 3,000 children across five centres.

Our Blackburn centre is at the heart of our organisation, delivering coaching programmes for children of all abilities, from beginners developing their fundamental skills to talented young players progressing towards professional football academies.

As our Blackburn centre continues to grow, we’re looking to recruit high-calibre football coaches with strong playing backgrounds, excellent football knowledge and a genuine passion for developing young players.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have played football at a good standard and have the knowledge, personality and coaching ability to develop the next generation of young footballers.

Our ideal candidates will:

* Have played football at a strong standard, ideally professional, semi-professional, academy or high-level non-league football.

* Possess an excellent technical and tactical understanding of the game.

* Have experience coaching children and understand how young players learn and develop.

* Be confident delivering engaging, challenging and well-structured coaching sessions.

* Have excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young players.

* Understand the importance of developing technically confident, intelligent footballers.

* Be able to challenge talented players while creating a positive environment for children of all abilities.

* Be enthusiastic, reliable, professional and committed to maintaining high standards.

* Have a genuine passion for helping young footballers reach their potential.

While a strong playing background is highly desirable, we recognise that being a good footballer doesn’t automatically make someone a good coach. The ability to communicate, educate and inspire young players is equally important.

The Role

As a Soccer HQ Blackburn coach, you’ll play an important role in delivering our coaching philosophy and maintaining the high standards we’ve established.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Delivering high-quality coaching sessions across our Development Centre, Selects and Elite programmes.

* Planning and delivering sessions focused on technical development, decision-making and game understanding.

* Creating positive, challenging environments where children can develop confidence and enjoy their football.

* Identifying individual player strengths and areas for improvement.

* Supporting talented players progressing through our established player development pathway.

* Building strong relationships with players, parents and fellow coaches.

* Working collaboratively with our existing coaching team to ensure consistency across our programmes.

* Representing Soccer HQ professionally and demonstrating our values of Energy, Passion and Detail.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

* Strong football knowledge and understanding of the game.

* Experience coaching or working with children.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to deliver engaging and effective coaching sessions.

* Professional attitude, reliability and enthusiasm.

* Willingness to complete the necessary safeguarding and DBS checks.

Desirable:

* Experience playing professional, semi-professional, academy or high-level non-league football.

* FA or UEFA coaching qualifications.

* Previous experience coaching within a professional academy or established player development programme.

* Experience coaching talented young footballers.

Working Hours & Location

Primary Location: Soccer HQ Blackburn – Pleckgate High School 3G, Blackburn.

Hours: Part-time, predominantly weekday evenings and weekends.

We have opportunities available across different age groups and coaching programmes.
