Wilson Building Timaru is a locally owned building company specialising in high-quality, architecturally designed homes, renovations and commercial projects throughout South Canterbury.

With exciting projects ahead, we are looking for an experienced Carpentry Foreman to join our team.

The Role

As Foreman, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of your site, leading your crew and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the high standard Wilson Building is known for.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and coordinating your crew and managing the site

Completing and overseeing carpentry work to a high standard

Reading and interpreting plans and architectural drawings

Coordinating materials, trades and contractors

Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior team members

Maintaining a well-organised and safe worksite

Communicating effectively with clients, contractors and our team

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

Has proven experience leading a crew and confidently running a building site

Takes pride in their workmanship and has a strong eye for detail

Has sound technical knowledge and problem-solving skills

Is organised, reliable and able to keep a project moving

Has a positive, team-focused attitude and strong communication skills

Takes a professional and respectful approach with clients and colleagues

What You'll Bring

NZ Certificate in Carpentry

Relevant industry experience, including experience leading a site and crew

Full New Zealand driver's licence

Existing right to work in New Zealand – we are unable to offer visa sponsorship

Pay: Hourly rate based on experience.  We pay well for the right people
