Job Description – General Foreman (Civil & MEP)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled General Foreman with strong knowledge of both Civil and MEP works to supervise and coordinate daily construction activities across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate must be a hands-on professional capable of managing site workers, coordinating subcontractors, understanding construction drawings, monitoring productivity, and ensuring all works are completed according to approved specifications, quality standards, and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Civil & Architectural Works

• Supervise all civil, structural, architectural, and finishing activities.
• Manage blockwork, plastering, screeding, waterproofing, tiling, painting, gypsum partitions, ceilings, and other finishing works.
• Oversee concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, and general construction activities.
• Ensure proper execution of works according to approved shop drawings and specifications.
• Identify site issues and provide practical solutions to maintain progress.

2. MEP Works Supervision

• Coordinate and supervise electrical, plumbing, drainage, HVAC, and firefighting installations.
• Ensure proper coordination between Civil and MEP teams to avoid clashes and rework.
• Monitor MEP installation progress and ensure readiness for inspections and testing.
• Coordinate with specialized MEP technicians and subcontractors.
• Ensure all MEP works are executed according to approved drawings and project requirements.

3. Site Management & Workforce Supervision

• Manage daily site activities and allocate manpower according to project priorities.
• Supervise skilled workers, technicians, helpers, and subcontractors.
• Monitor workforce productivity and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
• Conduct daily site briefings and communicate work targets clearly.
• Maintain site discipline, cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
• Coordinate material requirements, equipment, and tools to prevent interruptions.

4. Project Coordination & Execution

• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and subcontractors.
• Plan daily and weekly activities to achieve project milestones.
• Monitor progress against approved construction schedules.
• Identify potential delays and take immediate corrective action.
• Ensure proper sequencing of Civil and MEP activities.
• Support site inspections, snagging, testing, commissioning, and final handover.

5. Quality Control & Safety

• Ensure workmanship meets company quality standards and client expectations.
• Identify defective works and arrange immediate rectification.
• Enforce site safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
• Minimize material wastage, unnecessary rework, and productivity losses.
• Maintain high standards of finishing and attention to detail.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 8–10 years of UAE experience in construction, renovation, fit-out, and MEP coordination.
• Strong practical knowledge of Civil, Architectural, and MEP works.
• Proven experience supervising multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction sequences, site coordination, and finishing standards.
• Excellent manpower management and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is an advantage.
• UAE driving license is preferred.
• Experience in luxury fit-out, commercial renovation, and fast-track projects is a strong advantage.
