Foreman - Gate Automation

We are seeking an experienced Foreman to join our Gate Automation team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in gate automation, welding, concrete, and fencing. This role requires supervising installation crews and providing expert service and troubleshooting for access control equipment. Comprehensive Union-provided benefits and pay scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee projects as a field operations leader, leading installation crews and troubleshooting issues with both crews and customers.
• Provide service work and preventative maintenance on access control equipment, including all makes and models of gate operators, telephone entry systems, card readers, and gate hardware.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose failed access control equipment in the field.
• Perform welding tasks for gates, frames, and other materials related to fence and gate installation.
• Handle concrete and asphalt work, including pouring and finishing, patching, and removal.
• Oversee fencing installation, ensuring it meets project specifications and client requirements.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
• Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve any issues that arise during and after installation.
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure overall satisfaction.
• Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of company trucks and inventory.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree or vocational program with a focus on automation systems preferred.
• Proven experience in gate automation, including hands-on installation and maintenance.
• Strong skills in welding, with experience in gates, frames, and related materials.
• Proficiency in working with concrete and asphalt, including removal, patching, and installation.
• Experience with fencing installation and repair.
• Minimum 2 years of field service-related experience working on-site at customer locations and interacting with customers.
• Expertise in servicing and troubleshooting access control equipment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be willing to travel to job sites as needed.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background investigation (no felony convictions).
• OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is a plus.

• Reasoning: Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to develop logical troubleshooting techniques based on an understanding of the product performance and test requirements.
• Time Management: Able to track and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with several simultaneous projects/work orders. Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Technology: Knowledge of email, texting, and work order systems sufficient for basic communication, reporting, and notes.
• Physical Requirements: Able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day. Able to stand, climb, walk, kneel, and crouch frequently, as required at a variety of customer locations/work sites.
• Driving: Able to operate a motor vehicle for extended periods of time and possess a clean driving record.

Work Environment:

The physical environment for this position includes construction sites, warehouses, and outdoor customer locations. Frequently required to use and promote use of personal protective equipment to prevent injury.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00 - $45.00 per hour
