Layla Emerson Custom Builders is looking for an experienced, dependable, and skilled Foreman/Supervisor to join our team. The Lead Carpenter will play an important role in the successful completion of our custom homes, renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, and detailed finish carpentry projects.

This position is ideal for a carpenter who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, can confidently lead a jobsite, and understands that professionalism, communication, and attention to detail are just as important as technical skill.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and perform high-quality residential carpentry and remodeling work.
• Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate daily work activities with the Project Manager and/or Superintendent.
• Direct and mentor Carpenter-level employees and helpers on the jobsite.
• Ensure work is completed according to company standards, plans, and specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
• Perform framing, trim carpentry, door and window installation, cabinetry installation, and other general carpentry tasks.
• Assist with kitchens, bathrooms, additions, renovations, and custom home construction.
• Identify potential issues before they become costly problems and communicate them to management.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades when necessary.
• Verify measurements, materials, and jobsite conditions before beginning work.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Represent Layla Emerson Custom Builders professionally when interacting with homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, and coworkers.
• Help maintain project schedules and communicate progress or delays to management.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of residential carpentry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction and remodeling.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans.
• Strong finish carpentry skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to independently complete tasks and troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to lead and communicate effectively with other members of the crew.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Commitment to producing high-quality craftsmanship.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

Compensation

$32.00 per hour
