Forensic Accountant

Omar Nossair Auditing of Accounts is a Dubai-based professional accounting and auditing firm providing accounting, auditing, financial consulting, forensic accounting, valuation, and advisory services.

We are seeking an experienced Forensic Accountant with a minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting experience, including strong practical knowledge of banking transactions, bank reconciliations, general accounting, financial reporting, financial controls, and forensic review of financial records.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to examine financial records, identify discrepancies and irregularities, trace transactions, and prepare accurate financial and forensic reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger.
• Handle banking transactions and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Review accounting records, ledgers, trial balances, invoices, contracts, and supporting documents.
• Conduct forensic accounting reviews and financial investigations.
• Analyze financial transactions and identify discrepancies, irregularities, and unusual activities.
• Trace transactions across accounting records, bank statements, invoices, contracts, and supporting documentation.
• Assist in investigating suspected fraud, financial misconduct, and accounting irregularities.
• Prepare clear and well-supported forensic accounting schedules, analyses, and reports.
• Support audit assignments and client requirements.
• Prepare trial balance, balance sheet, profit & loss, and cash flow statements.
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow, and variance analysis.
• Ensure proper classification and recording of income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.
• Ensure compliance with UAE accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Handle VAT and Corporate Tax accounting requirements.
• Prepare detailed audit and forensic working papers, documenting findings, supporting evidence, and recommendations.
• Participate in audit planning, fieldwork, financial review, and internal control testing in accordance with professional standards.
• Perform detailed reviews of financial records and reconcile accounts.
• Analyze financial statements, ledgers, and trial balances to support accurate tax computations and financial analysis.
• Prepare financial analysis and supporting schedules for disputes, investigations, expert assignments, and advisory engagements, where required.
• Communicate financial findings clearly to senior management and clients.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professional standards when handling sensitive financial information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Diploma in IFRS is required.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong banking, accounting, and financial reporting experience.
• Proven experience in forensic accounting, financial investigation, audit, or financial analysis is highly preferred.
• Experience in an accounting or audit firm is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, general ledger, financial statements, and accounting controls.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills, including formulas, reconciliations, data analysis, and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze large volumes of financial information and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Ability to prepare professional accounting, audit, and forensic working papers and reports.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong analytical, communication, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to continuously develop technical accounting, audit, and forensic accounting knowledge.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• UAE experience is required.
• Valid UAE driving license is required.
• Proficiency in Arabic and advanced written and verbal communication skills in English.
