What they need

We have partnered with an independent management consulting and financial advisory firm seeking a Forensics Manager to join its Chicago team. This role offers the opportunity to take a hands-on approach to complex forensic accounting, litigation, dispute resolution, and business valuation matters.

You’ll work closely with clients, attorneys, and internal teams to analyze financial information, develop well-supported findings, and deliver clear, accurate work throughout each engagement. In addition to managing client assignments, you’ll play an important role in coaching and developing team members and helping strengthen the firm’s growing forensics and valuation practice.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead forensic accounting, litigation, fraud, dispute resolution, and business valuation engagements from initial planning through final delivery.
  • Define engagement scope, develop budgets and timelines, and manage projects to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Review workpapers, reports, valuation models, and forensic analyses for technical quality, consistency, and completeness.
  • Partner with clients, attorneys, and colleagues to understand the key issues in each matter and communicate findings clearly and effectively.
  • Work with discovery and engagement teams to organize, reconcile, and validate documents and data used in client matters, court submissions, and presentations to attorneys.
  • Keep senior leadership informed of significant developments, findings, and issues that may affect an engagement.
  • Lead and support junior team members through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on training.
  • Help maintain an efficient litigation process and ensure that workpapers and reports meet the firm’s quality standards.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA license required or strongly preferred.
  • ABV, CVA, or another recognized valuation credential preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in forensic accounting, business valuation, litigation support, or related advisory services within an accounting, consulting, or professional services environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex financial information and identify key issues.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, attorneys, and colleagues.
