Duties

• Conduct thorough forensic investigations of structural failures in buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
• Analyze damage patterns using structural analysis tools such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software and develop comprehensive reports detailing findings.
• Review construction documents, building codes, and design drawings to identify deviations or non-compliance contributing to failure.
• Utilize CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to develop accurate structural models and visualizations.
• Perform material testing coordination and interpret geotechnical engineering reports to assess foundation stability and soil-structure interactions.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, legal teams, and insurance adjusters to communicate technical findings clearly and effectively.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, expert witness statements, and presentations that articulate complex forensic analyses in a clear manner.
• Manage project schedules efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards across multiple investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with relevant experience in forensic investigations.
• Proven expertise in structural analysis using tools such as FEA software; familiarity with Mathcad is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of building code analysis, construction regulations, steel and concrete structural design principles.
• Experience with developing structural designs for masonry, steel, concrete, and system-based structures.
• Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation; experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools preferred.
• Hands-on construction experience coupled with civil engineering background enhances investigative insights.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and GIS applications related to site investigations is advantageous.
• Ability to manage project scheduling effectively while coordinating multiple forensic cases simultaneously.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
