Forklift Driver

A Forklift Driver / Dockworker is responsible for safely loading, unloading, moving, and organizing freight in a warehouse, distribution center, or shipping dock. During periods of downtime in the shipping and receiving area, the Dockworker will be required to assist the Assembly Department with production tasks as assigned. Employees are expected to remain productive and support other departments as needed to meet operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
• Move pallets, cartons, and other freight to designated storage or staging areas.
• Inspect freight for damage and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
• Verify shipping and receiving documents, labels, and pallet quantities.
• Stage orders and shipments for pickup or delivery.
• Maintain an organized and clean dock and warehouse area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Perform routine forklift inspections and report equipment problems.
• Assist with manual loading, unloading, wrapping, stacking, and securing freight.
• Work with warehouse, shipping, receiving, and transportation teams.
• Meet productivity and accuracy requirements while handling freight safely.
• Will be lifting coils of steel, dies, scrap hoppers, ect.

Typical Qualifications

• Previous forklift, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or dock experience preferred.
• Current forklift certification or willingness to complete company training.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials, often up to 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.
• Basic ability to read shipping labels and documentation.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
